MVMA
115th MVMA Annual Meeting February 2-4, 2012 The College of Veterinary Medicine is pleased to be back for another MVMA Annual Meeting. As always, the CVM booths will be staffed with College faculty and staff eager to talk about the latest developments and advancements. The Veterinary Medical Center has a greater presence at the conference this year and will be highlighting its nationally renowned clinical specialists throughout the program.
WIN A FREE CT SCAN!The University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center (VMC) is proud to announce the installation of its new Toshiba Aquilion 64-slice computed tomography (CT) scanner. The 64-slice unit is a huge technological improvement, with vastly improved speed, detail, and accuracy of imaging. The new unit has the ability to scan an entire cat or dog in a few seconds, producing up to 1,500 images that can be processed to create three-dimensional anatomic models that greatly facilitate diagnosis and treatment planning. The unit has also been customized to accommodate large animal patients and will prove a valuable diagnostic tool in imaging limbs and heads in horses as well as other body regions in smaller species, like llamas, alpacas, and some zoo animals. Combined with its 3-Tesla magnetic resonance system – one of the most powerful magnets for clinical veterinary use in the world – the 64-slice CT strengthens the VMC’s position as a world leader in advanced veterinary imaging and provides a tremendous new resource for the Twin Cities and beyond. Win a free iPad 2!Make sure to stop by the booth or our website, www.cvm.umn.edu/vmc, to find out how!
