WIN A FREE CT SCAN!

The University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center (VMC) is proud to announce the installation of its new Toshiba Aquilion 64-slice computed tomography (CT) scanner. The 64-slice unit is a huge technological improvement, with vastly improved speed, detail, and accuracy of imaging. The new unit has the ability to scan an entire cat or dog in a few seconds, producing up to 1,500 images that can be processed to create three-dimensional anatomic models that greatly facilitate diagnosis and treatment planning.

The unit has also been customized to accommodate large animal patients and will prove a valuable diagnostic tool in imaging limbs and heads in horses as well as other body regions in smaller species, like llamas, alpacas, and some zoo animals.

Combined with its 3-Tesla magnetic resonance system – one of the most powerful magnets for clinical veterinary use in the world – the 64-slice CT strengthens the VMC’s position as a world leader in advanced veterinary imaging and provides a tremendous new resource for the Twin Cities and beyond.

Win a free iPad 2!

Make sure to stop by the booth or our website, www.cvm.umn.edu/vmc, to find out how!
