The College of Veterinary Medicine is located on the University of Minnesota's St. Paul campus. The first veterinary facilities appeared on campus circa 1890 with major subsequent growth occurring soon after WWII and then again in the 1970s and 1980s. Within the past few years, the College has remodeled many areas in order to fulfill the facilities requirements of a modern teaching and research institution.
Today, the collegiate facilities comprise nearly 600,000 square feet of space - approximately equivalent to 10 football fields. Within this area are modern clinical service facilities, research laboratories, teaching/lecture rooms, offices, and supporting services.
