The Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association honored Dr. Gary Goldstein with the Outstanding Faculty Award at their annual meeting in Duluth, Minn., on Feb. 2-4, 2006. An associate clinical professor and director of the Dental Service, Dr. Goldstein consistently receives high marks from students for his teaching skills and enthusiasm. He has also presented numerous continuing education programs across the United States and contributed to more than 15 scholarly publications.
Dr. Goldstein is also known for his entrepreneurship. In addition to establishing the Dental Service, he initiated a monthly continuing education program in veterinary dentistry and is currently raising funds to establish a National Veterinary Dental Education Center at the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Goldstein received his D.V.M. from the University of Minnesota in 1984. Before he joined the College, he was the director of the Gulf Coast Veterinary Dental Clinic and a medical director for Banfield, the Pet Hospital. He was awarded diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Dentistry in 1992.
