Outstanding Woman Veterinarian
The Association for Women Veterinarians Outstanding Woman Veterinarian of the Year Award is open to any female graduate of an accredited veterinary school. The award recognizes special effort and achievement by a woman veterinarian in any area of veterinary medicine. Nominations should emphasize professional accomplishments.
Nominations can be made by an individual, a professional organization, or an institution. Nomination packets must include the name, address, and phone number of the nominee; the award for which the nomination is made, the nominee's professional activity, e.g., practice, research, etc., and the school and year of graduation of the nominee.
Materials included in support of a nomination may include but need not be limited to --
- Professional, scientific, or service organizations of which the nominee is a member, including offices held or committee assignments
- Honors and awards, publications, or other relevant activities
- A biographical sketch including educational background
