These Veterinary Public Health Fact Sheets are one to two page overviews of important zoonotic diseases or recent emerging topics. They cover the questions of: disease definition, transmission, symptoms, diagnoses treatment and where to get more information. Many of these were developed by students in the University of Minnesota graduate class VMED 8090: Epidemiology of Zoonoses and Diseases Common to Animals and Humans.
If you have questions about any of the fact sheets, please contact CAHFS.
The University of Minnesota Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory performs testing for many of these zoonotic diseases, is a national leader in rapid diagnosis of animal diseases, identifying emerging diseases, developing new diagnostic methods, and training diagnosticians and veterinarians.
