The Center for Animal Health and Food Safety (CAHFS) and the Global Initiative for Food Systems Leadership (GIFSL) hosted the third annual "One Health Meeting" on May 12, 2010 at McNamara Alumni Center.
This annual meeting promoted interdisciplinary partnerships focused on managing emerging issues in public health by creating opportunities for colleagues to forge new collaborations and leverage public/private resources.
Once again, participants have the opportunity to apply for $10,000 seed grants to fund innovative proposals that demonstrate new collaborations with significant potential for addressing global “One Health” challenges through research, education or outreach.
The workshop opened several interactive case studies, a review of last years seed grant recipients, and small group work sessions. This was followed by our keynote speaker, Dr. Daniel Gustafson of the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO) who presented on “One Health from Theory to Practice".
