Food issues are increasingly contentious with more and more stakeholders seeking a voice in formulating policy. The 2012 One Health Partnerships workshop will focus on this topic with the theme of One Health Approaches to food Policy and Action. The workshop will focus on One Health as it relates to food policy and action through the perspective of legislation, regulation, industry, and international standards. Promoting the concept of "One Health" necessitates that we forge new collaborations and leverage public and private resources around shared interests. Our overall objective each year is to identify new initiatives with a high likelihood of success in fostering government-industry-academic collaborations in One Health teaching, research or service. Each year through the assistance of generous partners we provide seed grants to help kick off several of these new collaborations.
