The UMN Veterinary Medical Center evaluated the effectiveness of imiquimod on equine aural plaques. Please see information above for use in treating the ears.  Results are pending publication.

 

Efficacy of Aldara™ (Imiquimod) on the Treatment of Equine Sarcoids

The UMN Veterinary Medical Center evaluated the effectiveness of Aldara™ (imiquimod) on equine sarcoids in a pilot study. This is a topical medication that is used for the treatment of skin tumors in people. Results were promising, with 12 of 15 horses showing more than 75% size reduction of the sarcoid tumors.
