Efficacy of AldaraTM (Imiquimod) on the Treatment of Equine Sarcoids

The UMN Veterinary Medical Center evaluated the effectiveness of AldaraTM (imiquimod) on equine sarcoids in a pilot study. This is a topical medication that is used for the treatment of skin tumors in people. Results were promising, with 12 of 15 horses showing more than 75% size reduction of the sarcoid tumors.
