Osborne, Carl
Dr. Carl Osborne, who received his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 1970, has received numerous awards, including--
- Norden Distinguished Teaching Award for Distinguished Teaching in the Field of Veterinary Medicine-1975, 1987, 1997, and 2002
- Ralston Purina Small Animal Research Award for research contributions to nephrology and urology. Sponsored by Ralston Purina and Awarded by the American Veterinary Medical Association; St. Louis, Missouri, 1982
- Bourgelat Award-1983- as international recognition for outstanding contributions to the field of Small Animal Practice. Awarded by British Small Animal Veterinary Association. London, England, 1983
- Carnation Award, for outstanding contributions to the study of feline diseases and nutrition. Sponsored by the Carnation Company and awarded by the American Animal Hospital Association. Orlando, Florida, 1985
- Distinguished Practitioner in Veterinary Medicine, National Academies of Practice. In recognition of significant and enduring contributions to the practice of the Health Professions. Elected in 1985.
- World Small Animal Veterinary Association International Prize For Scientific Achievement, for scientific contributions that have had a significant impact on the advancement of knowledge concerning the cause, detection, and cure or control of urinary tract disorders of companion animals. - Honorary Doctor of Science. Awarded by Purdue University "in recognition of pioneering contributions to knowledge and understanding, and efforts as mentor and role model in veterinary medicine." West Lafayette, Indiana, 1989.

- Beecham Award for Research Excellence, "recognizing outstanding research effort & productivity." Awarded by University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine, 1990.
- Phi Zeta Faculty Achievement Award for Contributions to Professional and Graduate Education, and Research Contributions. Awarded by Kappa Chapter of Phi Zeta, University of Minnesota, 1993.
- Osborne Award-1999. Selected by the International Renal Interest Society for lifetime achievements in nephrology, inspiration to academicians, and dedication to improving the health care of animals. Lyon, France, 1999.
- Waltham Award, 2000. Presented at the American Animal Hospital Association's annual meeting. The award recognized Dr. Osborne's contributions to the well-being of companion animals in the international veterinary community.
- Award for Outstanding Contributions to Postbaccalaureate, Graduate and Professional Education, 2005
