The University of Minnesota Foundation, which accepts and manages private gifts made on behalf of the University of Minnesota, is a 501(c)3 organization.
Because the College of Veterinary Medicine is part of the University of Minnesota, it is classed as a 170(c)1. However, gifts made for its benefit are accepted and managed by the University of Minnesota Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization. All accounts are kept separate based on the purpose of the gift designation.
