Financial Aid and Scholarships

FAFSA
The College of Veterinary Medicine utilizes the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA application is available beginning January 1st each year for the coming academic year i.e. The FAFSA for the 2009-10 academic year is available beginning January 1, 2009. Students should complete the FAFSA application only after you have completed their Federal Tax Return for the past calendar year. The FAFSA application is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov

Summer Term Aid
A note to third year veterinary students: The summer between your third and fourth year of the veterinary program is now included with your financial aid award for your senior year.  Please keep in mind that you will pay the same tuition for the summer term as you did for fall or spring term and the amount of aid available for the summer term is approximately the same as for one term leading into the summer.

Emergency Loans
Emergency loans in the amount of $1,000 or less are available on short notice to help students through unexpected financial crises.  The program is made possible by special funds set aside by the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association.  Contact the Director of Student Affairs, 108 Pomeroy Center for application materials.  Short term loans of $250 or less do not require a co-signer.
