Academic Interests My research on eradicating and/or reducing pathogens that potentially cause harm to human health such as Salmonella, Toxoplasma, Trichinella, Listeria and Yersinia spp. (pre-harvest food safety) from swine herds both in Minnesota and now, since April 2001 in Germany and Europe, is congruent with the vision and mission of the Swine Disease Eradication Center.
