  • Equine upper respiratory surgery.
  • Zoo/Exotic Species: Vitamin D deficiency in tamarins; Pinniped restraint/anesthesia/medical training; Laparoscopy.
  • Education: Problem and Case Based Learning; Technology enhanced learning; Assessment techniques; Use of games in education.

Current Funding

2003 University TEL Small Grants Program (PI), $10,000 (with $10,000 matching funds from CAPS/U.MN). Objective: Develop a case-based online template to teach problem-solving in large and small animal species. [Note: this grant is an education research-based proposal and is also listed as a Research Grant]
2003 U. MN Digital Media Fellowship (25% time for 2003-2004 academic year; $25,000 to department). Projects: Develop two learning games for instruction of infectious disease and related therapy in large animal medicine. [Note: this grant is an education research-based proposal and is also listed as a Research Grant]
