Need a home (top)
Red-tailed boa constrictor
Legs, a red-tailed boa constrictor, is about 6.5 feet long, beautiful, healthy, and very nice and easy to handle. She eats one frozen rat every three weeks and is otherwise fairly low maintenance. Legs would come with all of her supplies (lights and timers, heat lamps, aquariums, water dechlorinizer, logs for cage interior, extra cage flooring, traveling bag) and a large custom-made cage on wheels, for which the owers are asking $275. Contact: freyapstein@gmail.com.
Female Samoyed
Sierra, a 4 1/2-year-old spayed female Samoyed, needs a new home because her owner passed away. She is smart and friendly, but has not lived with children or other pets. She weighs about 65 pounds. Contact: Bill Wojcik, 612-781-3004.
Retired greyhounds need foster homes
The Veterinary Medical Center's blood donor program recently acquired 10 retired racing greyhounds that needed foster homes. Two are still available:
- Michelob, a black-and-white, 3-year-old neutered male. Michelob is very affectionate and the only "smiler" in the bunch. The blood donor program would prefer Michelob to go into a home without cats or small children.
- A 3-year-old neutered male, Rex is white with brindle spots. He is a player and very affectionate. The blood donor program does not believe Rex would do well with cats.
These dogs are in ward 5 if you would like to meet them. If you have questions about fostering, contact Dora Schroeder at schro067@umn.edu or Beth Olmstead johns547@umn.edu.
