U of M to host U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Mike Johanns, BSE Roundtable Thursday

MINNEAPOLIS / ST. PAUL (June 8, 2005 ) --University of Minnesota President Robert Bruininks will welcome U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Mike Johanns to the St. Paul campus of the University of Minnesota for a USDA roundtable on BSE (mad cow disease) at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 9, in Room B45, Classroom Office Building, 1994 Buford Ave.


The photo, taken at the event, shows Dean Chuck Muscoplat of the College of Agricultural, Food, and Environmental Sciences, Dean Susan Stafford of the College of Natural Resources, Frank Cerra, senior vice president of health sciences, Secretary of Agriculture Mike Johanns, University of Minnesota President Robert Bruininks, and Dean Jeffrey Klausner of the College of Veterinary Medicine.


The roundtable runs until 2:30 p.m., with a lunch break around 11 a.m.

The event is free and open to the public. Media must check in with their credentials to enter the media area.

One-on-one media interviews with the secretary will be available depending on time. University experts will be available throughout the day.

Public parking is available in the Gortner Avenue Ramp, located at 1395 Gortner Ave.
