New Faculty Members Join College of Veterinary Medicine
MINNEAPOLIS / ST. PAUL (September 22, 2005) – Six new faculty members joined the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine during 2005.
“We are delighted to have these six new faculty members. They offer a wide range of scholarly, teaching, and clinical knowledge,” said Dean Jeffrey Klausner.
These faculty members are:
Dr. Amy J. Barnes, assistant clinical professor in the Veterinary Population Medicine Department. Dr. Barnes her D.V.M. from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, and completed her residency in equine surgery at Peterson and Smith Equine hospital in Ocala, Fla.
Dr. Kathryn A. Diehl, assistant clinical professor in the Veterinary Clinical Sciences Department. Dr. Diehl received her D.V.M. from Ohio State University and completed a residency in comparative ophthalmology and a fellowship in cellular biology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Dr. Gia Klauss, assistant clinical professor in the Veterinary Clinical Sciences Department. Dr. Klauss received her D.V.M. from the University of Wisconsin Madison and completed a residency in comparative ophthalmology at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Dr. Simone Rodrigues Oliveira, assistant clinical professor in the Veterinary Population Medicine Department. Dr. Oliveira received her veterinary degree and master’s degree in veterinary pathology from the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Brazil and her Ph.D. in veterinary medicine from the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Travis C. Saveraid, assistant clinical professor in the Veterinary Clinical Sciences Department. Dr. Saveraid received his D.V.M. from Iowa State University and completed his residency at Washington State University.
Dr. Srinand Sreevatsan, associate professor in the Veterinary Clinical Sciences Department. Dr. Sreevatsan completed his B.V.S and M.V.Sc. from University of Agricultural Sciences in Bangalore, India. He received his master’s degree in public health and Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Sreevatsan was a research associate at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
