The College is accepting applications from veterinarians seeking state-of-the-art research training in a National Institutes of Health (NIH) postdoctoral training program in Comparative Medicine and Pathology. The goal of this program is to provide students with sufficient broad-based knowledge, quality communication skills, and advanced research training essential for a career as an independent investigator. The faculty mentors in the program represent a diverse group of disciplines, including pharmacology, cell biology, infectious disease, neurobiology, physiology, genetics, molecular biology, and morphology. Trainees without a Ph.D. degree will be strongly encouraged to pursue a Ph.D. in the Comparative and Molecular Biosciences graduate program. Candidates must have a D.V.M. or equivalent foreign degree by the start date (senior veterinary students are eligible to apply), and must be a U.S. citizen or non-citizen national. The ideal applicant will have completed a residency program; however, recent graduates and individuals with veterinary practice experience are encouraged to apply. Selection criteria will include:
