The Equine Clinical Services of the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine are pleased to offer the most extensive range of specialty care services for horses available in the upper Midwest. Routine health care services, including annual examinations and preventative care (vaccinations, deworming, dentistry, nutritional management), are available at the Veterinary Medical Center and through our Ambulatory Service in Maple Plains. The Veterinary Medical Center also provides a wide range of specialty and feature services that provide advanced care for more complex problems.

Diagnostic imaging is one of the most rapidly changing fields in veterinary and human medicine. The University of Minnesota has a long-standing tradition of excellence in imaging. In addition to a staff of 4 board certified radiologists, we have a specialist in equine ultrasonography and are adding Computerized Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) for horses in 2007. We are available at all times to help you and your veterinarian handle injuries, colic, sudden changes in attitude or behavior, difficult deliveries, premature foals, difficulty breathing, and other equine emergency situations.
