Library news

Construction underway
The Veterinary Medical Library is undergoing some construction as it upgrades its Internet lines to come up to speed (pun intended!), as well as install some new jacks for future possibilities.  Thanks for your patience!

University Library offers valuable resources
One important option for faculty to minimize the cost of course readings for students is to utilize the electronic licenses and other resources of the University Library.

As you think about courses for the fall, please remember that the Library owns licenses for electronic access to a large number of journals. It is possible to create "deep links" that will take students directly to most articles in these journals.  Please visit http://www.lib.umn.edu/copyright/linking.phtml for more information.

Faculty members who don't want to create links themselves in something like WebCT also have the option of using the electronic reserve system. Information about the system can be found at http://www.lib.umn.edu/site/eres.phtml

Contact information for assistance appears at the top of these Web pages.

A new Web-based multimedia resource, Bovine Necropsy Module, is now available. Produced by Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, it is designed for use by veterinary students and practicing veterinarians. The module is available online at http://w3.vet.cornell.edu/virtualvet/ It is free, but anyone wishing to use the resource must register online. Registrants will receive an e-mail with a user name and password that gives them instant access to the content.
