The Raptor Center, which has treated more than 1,600 eagles in its 30-year history, celebrated the bald eagle's removal from the endangered species list on Thursday. See the College's news release.
Small Animal Hospital parking lot to be resurfaced July 12-15
The east end of the Small Animal Hospital parking lot (nearest Gortner Avenue) will be closed for resurfacing July 12-15 (Thursday through Sunday). Clients will be able to access the portion of the lot near the Pomeroy Center via Fitch Avenue, and those with emergencies will be able to pull up to the curb on Gortner Avenue for easy access to the front entrance. Shidong Ma receives Ph.D.
Shidong Ma has successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis, "Expression and Regulation of IL-22 by Bovine Peripheral Blood Gamma/Delta T Cells." Dr. Mitch Abrahamson was Sidong's advisor. Shidong has a post-doctoral position working in Dr. Shannon Kenney's laboratory at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Congratulations, Shidong!
Student seeks housesitter/petsitter

Normal dogs aged 7-12 needed for study
Normal dogs between 7 and 12 years of age are needed for a study being conducted by Dr. Leslie Sharkey and Dr. Inese Berzina. The study involves exam, blood pressure, one blood sample, and follow-up calls for a year. The dogs need to have a normal medical history, not be on medications or supplements (except heartworm preventive), have a normal physical exam and serum creatinine level.
