Dr. John Madigan
Dr. Madigan is a professor in the Department of Medicine and Epidemiology, board certified in equine interal medicine and a senior clinician in Equine Medicine and Neonatal Critical Care. He is the School of Veterinary Medicine Disaster Coordinator and heads the UC Davis Veterinary Emergency Response Team and Equine Helicopter Rescue Team. Dr. Madigan received his DVM and Master of Science degree from University of California at Davis. He was in private practice for 8 years before returning to UC Davis in Equine Medicine. Dr. Madigan developed the Anderson Sling and the Large Animal Lift. His initial rescue experiences highlighted the need for coordinated disaster planning efforts, the need for animal rescue advocacy, and the subsequent need for animal care.
