Peregrine Falcon Restoration in the Midwest, The Raptor Center at the University of Minnesota

Plunging from tremendous heights, the peregrine falcon can reach speeds of up to 220 miles per hour in pursuit of prey and is a favorite of falconers and bird-watchers alike. Jackie Fallon of the Minnesota Zoo, a longtime volunteer at The Raptor Center, coordinates the monitoring of peregrine falcons in Minnesota for more than 40 nesting sites.
