Referral appointments
If your primary care veterinarian has referred you to the Veterinary Medical Center, he/she will probably have contacted us about your animal's case. A veterinarian or veterinary technician will call you to discuss your needs and schedule an appointment. Our technicians will do their best to match your schedule with our clinic schedule.
Normally, clients referred for non-emergency general diagnostic care are scheduled within five to ten days of their call.
Appointments without a referral
You may also come to the Veterinary Medical Center directly, without a referral from your veterinarian. Simply call the appropriate appointment number for an explanation of services that do not require a referral.
Scheduled visits are often less expensive than emergency visits, so please call for an appointment whenever possible. Specialists are available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Emergency doctors are available after hours and on weekends.
What to bring to your first appointment
The Veterinary Medical Center is located at 1365 Gortner Avenue in St. Paul, Minnesota.
A map of the general area is below and details on parking are available for your convenience.
If a veterinarian has previously seen your animal, please bring copies of those records with you. If radiographs have been taken, please bring a copy of those as well.
Bring your animal on a leash or in a kennel to the hospital. It is very important to have your animal under control at all times. Please plan to arrive about 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment.
