President


The SCAVMA President is the chair of the Executive Board, and presides over SCAVMA Executive Board Meetings voting only in the case of ties. This officer presides at all meetings of the chapter and prepares the agenda for the Executive Board. They act as a liaison between the national AVMA, SCAVMA membership (student body) and the CVM faculty and administration. The President represents the UMN SCAVMA at school, community, and professional functions. The President attends MVMA meetings as a student representative of UMN-CVM and SCAVMA. The President trains the President-elect in preparation for the following year, and deals with daily issues pertaining to SCAVMA and the student body. The President is often invited and expected to attend leadership functions, college planning committees, MVMA organizational meetings, and any other various occasion in which student representation is desired. The President will appoint all regular and special committees, and promptly fill vacancies in the membership of the committees and Executive Board.
