President Elect

The SCAVMA President-Elect trains for the President position for one full year during which time they are a voting member of the Executive Board. The President-Elect is expected to represent the UMN SCAVMA at school, community, and professional functions alongside the current president or in his or her absence.  The President-Elect will attend SAVMA Symposium and at this meeting will attend the President/President-Elect meeting in which they will represent the school and gain new ideas for UMN SCAVMA.  At the end of the spring semester The President-Elect is expected to revise and submit the UMN SCAVMA Student Chapter Report with the help and guidance of the current President.  During the summer the President-Elect will attend VLE and the AVMA convention.  He or she will work with the SAVMA Junior Delegate to organize GOALe student mentors and a presentation about SCAVMA during orientation.  In the fall the President-Elect will attend the Faculty Advisor Student Leadership conference located at the AVMA headquarters, in which they will be accompanied by one of the UMN SCAVMA advisors.  At this meeting they will represent the school and gain new ideas for the UMN SCAVMA chapter.  At the end of the President-Elect’s term he or she will work alongside the Junior Delegate to encourage SAVMA Symposium attendance by providing information, as well as helping to organize lodging, transportation, and funding for UMN students.  The President-Elect will also attend the MVMA changing of the board meeting with the current SCAVMA President and he or she will organize the UMN SCAVMA changing of the board meeting as well.
