Transfer Student Application Update (3/18/2015)
The University of Minnesota is no longer accepting applications for transfer starting fall 2015.

Each year, the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine considers transfer applicants in years two, three, and four of the D.V.M. program. Applicants are accepted on a space available basis as seats become available. Transfers into the second semester of the first year of the D.V.M. program are considered only in the occasion of an extreme extenuating circumstance.

Curricula are unique from institution to institution. Placement is contingent on D.V.M. coursework already completed and coursework needing completion according to the U of M D.V.M. curriculum. Accepted applicants will be placed in the year or semester of the curriculum deemed appropriate after analysis and equivalency of the required courses involved has been verified.

All applicant must be from a D.V.M. program accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association and are required to have finished at least one full academic year at the institution from which transfer is requested. Applicants must be in good academic standing at the time of discontinuance according to written verification from the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs or Dean of that institution.

Please read the transfer policy below to determine your eligibility, and check back starting in January 2016 regarding transfer options for fall 2016.
