Equine Clinical Services

Your horse's performance matters to us

The University of Minnesota Equine Center provides comprehensive care for your horse – from diagnosis to rehabilitative therapy – that is unequalled in the Midwest.
Special features include 24-hour care provided by certified veterinary technicians, an on-site laboratory, and full-service diagnostic imaging facilities. From beginning to end, we give your horse the finest quality care to restore him to health.

Outpatient services for horses

Diagnostic packages for equine performance evaluation, lameness, gastrointestinal, neurological, respiratory, cardiac, muscle, and skin disorders are available at competitive prices. In addition to outpatient surgery, we provide equine dentistry opthamology (eye care), ultrasonography, endoscopy, radiology and rehabilitation therapy.   Shockwave therapy
Reproductive services for horses
We provide all types of reproductive services for horses, including artificial insemination, semen freezing, embryo transfer with on-site recipient herd, and fertility evaluations.

Assisted reproduction therapies are available.


Ophthalmology (eye care) for horses

Our specialist provides a variety of services. Dr. Gia Klaus is available for diagnosis and medical and surgical treatment of all equine eye disorders including emergencies.
