Horse Owner Education Days

The University of Minnesota is offering regional horse owner education programs throughout Minnesota in 2008. Each program offers unbiased, researched-based information from knowledgeable speakers identified specifically for that region by a committee of local horse experts and enthusiasts.

Speakers for these programs include University of Minnesota faculty and staff as well as local veterinarians and horse professionals.(more ...)


Minnesota Equine Dental Symposia (MEDS)

Providing Excellence in Equine Dental Education Through Experiential Learning

The primary goal of each symposium is to give the participant the knowledge necessary to recognize specific dental diseases, followed by in-depth hands on training to treat these diseases. These programs have been designed as an intensive combination of classroom lectures complimented by closely instructed wet labs taught by world renowned equine dental experts. The labs are an invaluable tool to gain hands-on experience using the most up to date state of the art equipment, instruments and materials.

5th International Symposium on Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy in Veterinary Medicine

August 13-16, 2008

Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA

The field of animal rehabilitation is rapidly growing and rehabilitation services have become integral partners for many veterinary practices and teaching hospitals. Nationwide and beyond, veterinary professionals are actively working with physical therapy professionals to develop treatment programs and deliver therapy.

This symposium will highlight the collaborative relationship between veterinary and physical therapy professionals and give them the opportunity to hear the most current scientific and clinical information in this exciting field. Lectures will be presented by researchers and clinicians with veterinary and physical therapy training. Focused discussions will take place in daily breakfast forums.

Laboratory and demonstration sessions will cover many clinical aspects of animal rehabilitation. (more ...)
