Planned Facilities

The Center is designed by horse people for horses.

The unique design of the Equine Center provides a functional high-tech space for performance and lameness examinations and reproduction therapies. With its indoor arena, high speed treadmill, digital radiography, and access to bone, CT, and soon MRI scans, the Center allows an unprecedented examination of a horse's performance, facilitating detection of subtle abnormalities. The Center's creative design allows for future expansion so that the entire equine program can be incorporated into the facility.

The Equine Center, August 2007

The Equine Center facility was designed with input from College employees and two architectural firms. Gralla Architects, a firm with an international reputation for designing first class equine facilities, collaborated with with Rafferty, Rafferty, Tollefson to design the Center. The Center facility focuses on sports medicine and reproductive services, as well as providing facilities for state-of-the art equine research, outreach programs, and teaching.
