Sherryl Fonseth-Lais, Assistant Clinical Professor DVM Dr. Sherry Fonseth is a 2002 graduate from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Her first career was working as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery. After graduating from the College of Veterinary Medicine with honors, Dr. Fonseth worked in the northwestern suburbs of the Twin Cities as a full time veterinarian in a large comprehensive small animal clinic. She provided medical and surgical care to dogs, cats, and other mammals. Sue Lowum, Assistant Clinical Professor Dr. Sue Lowum graduated veterinary school from the University of Minnesota with many awards and honors. She then went on to complete a rigorous rotating internship at the University of Minnesota where she gained experience in emergency medicine, surgery, and internal medicine. She joined our General Practice Service in 2008. Dr. Lowum’s medical interests are numerous but include geriatric medicine, preventative medicine, endocrine disease, cardiology, oncology, and gastrointestinal disease. Margaret Root Kustritz, Associate Professor Dr. Peggy Root Kustritz is a 1987 graduate of the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. After working in small animal private practice in the Twin Cities for several years, she returned to the University of Minnesota, completing a residency in theriogenology. She achieved board certification in theriogenology in 1994, and completed a PhD in theriogenology in 1995. She currently is employed as an associate professor in small animal reproduction and also serves as vice-chair of the Veterinary Clinical Sciences Department and Assistant Dean of Education of the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. She is the author of several veterinary texts and one text for dog breeders and is a frequent speaker for lay and veterinary audiences.
