Current Pathology Residents

First-year Residents:

  PUB/CVM/VDL/Mary Lauren Mesich   

 

Dr. Mary Lauren Mesich

Dr. Mesich received her DVM degree from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005 and participated in a small animal rotating internship at North Carolina State University in 2006. She trained in a small animal surgery residency program at the University of Pennsylvania and received her diplomate status as a small animal surgeon in 2010. She worked in private practice for almost 4 years and has now joined the University of Minnesota anatomic pathology residency program in July 2013. Her interests include surgical pathology, oncologic pathology, and general diagnostic pathology.
 

 

 

 

 

PUB/CVM/VDL/MattSturos  
Dr. Matthew Sturos

Dr. Sturos received his DVM degree from the University of Minnesota in May 2012. He worked in private practice prior to joining the University of Minnesota veterinary anatomic pathology residency program in July 2013. His pathology interests include food animal pathology, infectious disease, and diagnostic pathology.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Second-year Resident:

VDL Dr. Foutz image  
Dr. Christina Foutz

Dr. Foutz received her Bachelor of Science degree from The Pennsylvania State University in 2004.  She worked in research for 3 years prior to veterinary school and received her DVM/MPH degree from the University of Minnesota's College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2011.  Dr. Foutz began the Anatomic Pathology residency at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Diagnostic Lab in July of 2012.  Her pathology interests include diagnostic pathology, food animal pathology, and zoonotic diseases.

 

 

 

 

   

Third-year Residents:

PUB/CVM/VDL/Schucker  
Dr. Adrienne Schucker

Dr. Schucker received her DVM degree from the University of Veterinary Medicine in June of 1999.  She worked in private practice and biomedical research and has now joined the University of Minnesota anatomic pathology residency program in July of 2011.  Her interests include comparative pathology, surgical pathology, toxicologic pathology and diagnostic pathology.

 

PUB/CVM/VDL/Watson  
Dr. Christine Watson

Dr. Watson received her BVMS degree from the University of Glasgow, Glasgow, Scotland in June 2009.  She joined the University of Minnesota anatomic pathology residency program in July, 2011.   Her interests include oncologic pathology, infectious disease and general diagnostic pathology.
