Canine Neuromuscular

Effective March 11, 2013

Note: The $10 accession fee and the 10% out of state surcharge will NOT be applied to neuromuscular testing. All fees are in US $.

 

Note on days tested and turnaround times:  Samples must be received at least 1 business day before the scheduled testing day.  New client accounts can take up to 2-3 business days to establish before testing can begin.  Samples may not always be tested on the first scheduled day after they arrive; however, it is our goal to complete testing within the posted turnaround time. 

 

 

Alaskan Malamute Polyneuropathy (AM-PN)

Fee:  85.00

Specimen:

1) 1-3 ml whole blood
2) 1-2 dew claws (NEWLY WHELPED PUPPIES ONLY)
3) 1 straw or 1/2 cc semen
4) 2 sterile 6" cheek swabs

Canine Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC)

Disclosure of financial interests: This test was developed through financial support from the AKC Canine Health Foundation. To date, proceeds from EIC testing at the University of Minnesota have returned more than $100,000 to the AKC Canine Health Foundation to further its mission to improve the health of all dogs. Drs. Mickelson, Patterson, and Taylor, and Ms. Minor are the patent owners of this genetic test, a portion of the proceeds go toward patent royalties.

Affected or presumed affected dogs may qualify for free testing. This must be pre-approved by the Canine Neuromuscular Lab, and requires special shipping instructions and additional documentation. Samples submitted without pre-approval will be assessed normal testing fees. Please email lpninfo@umn.edu to see if your dog may qualify for free testing.
