Margaret M. Duxbury DVM
Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists

Dr. Duxbury earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Technical Communications from the University of Minnesota.  She earned her DVM from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine, and then worked as a primary care veterinarian in private practice for fifteen years.  Dr. Duxbury completed a residency program in behavior under the mentorship of Dr. R.K. Anderson, and went on to achieve specialty board certification in behavior.  She joined the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center in 2002.

Dr. Duxbury has authored numerous articles on canine and feline health and behavior for both scientific and popular magazines. She has been an invited speaker at national and regional professional meetings as well as lecturing to veterinary students.  Dr. Duxbury has long enjoyed working with companion animals and has been a successful competitor in equine competitions as well as obedience and field trial work with dogs.  Dr. Duxbury enjoys working with owners and their canine, feline, and equine companions with behavior problems.  “The bond between animals and their owners can be so strong.  Behavior problems often damage that bond.  It’s so rewarding when we can help animals function better. Their quality of life improves, and so does that of their owners.”
