The Veterinary Medical Center is located at 1365 Gortner Avenue on the St. Paul campus of the University of Minnesota. The Leatherdale Equine Center and Piper Performance Clinic are several blocks northeast of the Medical Center at 1530 Fairview Avenue. The St. Paul campus adjoins the Minnesota State Fairgrounds halfway between Minneapolis and St. Paul.

You will need a permit to park in the lots for the Small Animal Clinic, Large Animal Hospital, and Equine Center. The permit will be provided to you after you check in at the Front Desk.

From north of the Twin Cities metro area:
Take Interstate 35W south to the Cleveland Ave exit. It is a left exit. Follow Cleveland Avenue south to Larpenteur Avenue. Turn left (east) and drive to the first stoplight, Gortner Avenue. Turn right (south) onto Gortner.

Large Animal Hospital, including Equine Emergency and Critical Care:
Follow Gortner Avenue south to Commonwealth Avenue. Turn right (west) and
drive one block to Boyd Avenue. Turn right onto Boyd and make another immediate right into the area between buildings, parking parallel to the Large Animal Hospital on your left. The Front Office entrance is near the 2nd story overhead walkway.

Piper Performance Clinic/Leatherdale Equine Center:
Follow Gortner Avenue past one stop sign to Dudley Avenue. Turn left (east) and follow Dudley; the Equine Center parking lot is on the left.

From south of the Twin Cities metro area:
Take Interstate 35W north to Interstate 94 East. Go three miles on 94 East to Highway 280 (a left exit). Follow Highway 280 north to the Larpenteur Avenue exit. Turn right (east) and drive for one and a half miles to Gortner Avenue. Turn right (south), on Gortner.

Large Animal Hospital, including Equine Emergency and Critical Care:

The Large Animal Hospital at the Veterinary Medical Center is located at 1352 Boyd Avenue on the St. Paul campus of the University of Minnesota. The campus is just west of the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. The St. Paul campus is small, easy to navigate and offers ample parking. It is easy to access from such major highways as Highways 94, 280, 35 and 36.

The best route for trailers is to follow Commonwealth Avenue to Boyd Avenue.

Where to Park
Parking is convenient and easy.Complimentary parking is available just north of the Veterinary Science Building. Before unloading your animal,  please check in at the large animal clinic front office to obtain a parking permit. A secure facility is available for overnight parking of trailers if needed.
