Maps to Small Animal Hospital

The Veterinary Medical Center is located at 1365 Gortner Avenue on the St. Paul campus of the University of Minnesota. The St. Paul campus adjoins the Minnesota State Fairgrounds halfway between Minneapolis and St. Paul.

You will need a permit to park in the lots for the Small Animal Clinic,. The permit will be provided to you after you check in at the Front Desk.

From north of the Twin Cities metro area:
Take Interstate 35W south to the Cleveland Ave exit. It is a left exit. Follow Cleveland Avenue south to Larpenteur Avenue. Turn left (east) and drive to the first stoplight, Gortner Avenue. Turn right (south) onto Gortner.

Small Animal Hospital:
Follow Gortner Avenue past three stop signs. The entrance to the Small Animal Hospital parking lot is the first driveway on the right after the Fitch Avenue (third) stop sign.

From south of the Twin Cities metro area:
Take Interstate 35W north to Interstate 94 East. Go three miles on 94 East to Highway 280 (a left exit). Follow Highway 280 north to the Larpenteur Avenue exit. Turn right (east) and drive for one and a half miles to Gortner Avenue. Turn right (south), on Gortner.

The Lewis Hospital for Companion Animals at the Veterinary Medical Center is located at 1365 Gortner Avenue on the St. Paul campus of the University of Minnesota. The campus is just west of the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. The St. Paul campus is small, easy to navigate and offers ample parking. It is easy to access from such major highways as Highways 94, 280, 35, and 36.

Where to Park
Parking is convenient and easy. Complimentary parking is available just north of the Small Animal Hospital (look for the sign). If that lot is full, overflow parking is available in the Gortner Avenue Ramp just beyond the hospital lot. Please bring your parking ticket to the front desk for validation.
