Official Rules

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: Your pet must be clearly visible, in focus, and emphasized. All entries must contain University of Minnesota colors and/or logos. We encourage all visitors to submit different photos of their pet each week. Please do not submit the same photo over the course of multiple weeks. If a visitor submits multiple photos of the same pet, only one will be chosen at the editor’s discretion. If you would like to submit a new photo of your pet in a different setting another week, that is acceptable. Entries generated by script, macro, or other automated means and entries by any means that subvert the entry process are void. The Veterinary Medical Center (“Sponsor”) will not verify receipt of entries. All entries submitted become the sole property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. By entering, you understand that you are providing your information to Sponsor and not Facebook.

ELIGIBILITY: U of M Pet of the Game contest is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are at least 18 years old at the time of entry. Void where prohibited. The contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Participation in the Pet of the Game constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and Sponsor’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Pet of the Game contest. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.

TIMING: The 2013 U of M Pet-of-the-Game contest begins on August 15, 2013, at 12:00 a.m. Central Time (CT), and ends on November 24, 2013, at 11:59 p.m. CT (the “Promotion Period”). Voting for finalists to be entered each game ends at 11:59 p.m. the Wednesday before the Game. Pet of the Season voting ends at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, the 14th of November. Administrator’s Computer is the official time-keeping device for the contest.

HOW TO ENTER: Click “ENTER CONTEST” found within our Pet of the Game application found on our Facebook page and follow submission guidelines.

WINNER SELECTION: Three finalists will be selected by popular vote within the application for each game; the top three photos will be shared during the game and game attendants will use text message voting to decide the winner.

Pet of the Game winners will be notified by email the week following the home game.
Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received. All prizes will be awarded. Limit one prize per person, family, or household. Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, or misdirected registrations, which will be disqualified. In the event of a dispute as to any registration, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address used to register will be deemed to be the registrant. The “authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, Internet service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted address. The winner may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder. All decisions are made by the management of the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center and are final.

Limit one entry per person per game. Entries received from any person or e-mail address in excess of the stated limitation will be void.

The potential winner will be notified via e-mail within approximately 14 days of the end of the voting period. If a potential winner cannot be reached within two business days from the first notification attempt, the contestant will be disqualified and an alternate winner will be selected. Pet of the Game winners are ineligible to win in subsequent weeks. Pet of the Game winners’ photos will be removed from the contest and put into a separate photo contest for Pet of the Season, our grand prize winner.
