VOLUNTEER POSITION DESCRIPTION
Creature Comforts Crew
RESPONSIBILITIES
Volunteers play an important role in providing a comforting atmosphere for the animal patients during their stay at the Veterinary Medical Center (VMC). This volunteer is situated in the wards area and takes responsibility for providing a comfortable, clean, and safe environment. The primary contact is with the staff and animals; this is a no-pet-owner-contact position.
Responsibilities include:

Cleaning cages, as necessary
*
Making blanket beds for patients as needed
*
Adding comforts for the animals as needed
*
Notifying the staff of concerns that may arise with a patient
This position takes work direction from float team supervisor Cindy Henrikson.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 18 years of age, up-to-date with tetanus and rabies series shots.
Must complete orientation; willing to commit to one shift a week for six months (includes a one-month probation period).
VMC TRAINING
Initial training and ongoing in-service training is provided by staff supervisor, volunteer manager, and other staff.
