VOLUNTEER POSITION DESCRIPTION
Veterinary Historical Museum Volunteer Assistant

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Veterinary Historical Museum is sponsored as a cooperative project by various organizations, including the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Its purpose is to collect, catalog, restore, and preserve memorabilia that is part of the rich veterinary history of Minnesota. The volunteer provides assistance to the museum curator in the handling of the various items.

Responsibilities include:

  • Sorting press clippings and organizing a press clipping book
  • Catalog books for the museum library
  • Labeling photographs and other items

This position takes work direction from Dr. Walt Mackey, curator of the Minnesota Veterinary Historical Museum. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 18 years of age, complete VMC orientation, and willing to commit one shift a week on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday for six months

VMC TRAINING
Initial training and ongoing training is provided by staff supervisor.
