Did you know?

  • We understand the importance of camelids and the shortage of veterinarians with the necessary skills to care for them.
  • We provide heavily subsided veterinary care for your animals during farm visits so that future veterinarians are well instructed in camelid care.
  • We are one of the few veterinary schools to offer a camelid clinical rotation to final year veterinary students.
  • We have a student camelid club that organizes various activities under the mentorship of a faculty member.

Camelid Clinical Rotation

This course provides 4th year veterinary students the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills of camelid medicine.  It is designed to give students and in-depth introduction to camelid health care via hands on work, lectures and discussion sections.  It is open to students at any college of veterinary medicine and is also offered for continuing education to practicing veterinarians.  The next course will be April 5th-16th 2010. For more information contact Dr. Anna Firshman at firsh001@umn.edu
