Meet the West Metro Equine Practice Clinicians

Spring Halland, D.V.M., DACVIM Dr. Halland oversees the day-to-day operations of the West Metro Equine Practice, providing routine and emergency health care for horses and instructing and overseeing students, interns, and residents.
Prior to joining the U of M, she worked at the Cotati Large Animal Hospital in Cotati, California. She received her D.V.M. degree from the University of Minnesota, did an internship at the University of Tennessee, completed a residency at the University of California-Davis, and is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Her interests include neonates, ophthalmology, and urology.
Holly Bedford, D.V.M., M.S. A resident in Large Animal Ambulatory Services, Dr. Bedford previously worked in private practice at the Ledgewood Equine Clinic in Ontario, New York. Her special interests include critical care, geriatric medicine, alternative medicine, and lameness. A horse owner who took her first riding lessons at age 7, she received her D.V.M. degree from the Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine and her master's degree in nutrition from the University of Tennessee.

Stacy Tinkler, D.V.M. Dr. Tinkler is a resident in Large Animal Ambulatory Services. She received her D.V.M. degree from the University of Minnesota and completed an internship at Chaparral Animal Hospital, a busy equine practice in Phoenix, Arizona. Her special interests include neonatal medicine, nutrition, metabolic diseases, and ophthalmology. She has been riding horses for pleasure and showing hunters and jumpers since childhood.
